DUTCH Complete Test
The DUTCH Complete test is an advanced comprehensive hormone test, making it the world leader in reproductive & adrenal hormone lab panels. DUTCH stands for Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones. Undoubtedly, it is perfect for women who struggle with hormonal health symptoms, including PCOS, irregular menstrual cycles, infertility, fatigue, sleep disturbances, and more.
What is a DUTCH TEST?
A DUTCH Test provides a full picture of your hormones and how your body metabolizes them. Therefore, it allows us to create a customized nutrition, lifestyle, and supplement plan that targets your specific hormone imbalances.
DUTCH Test provides a comprehensive assessment of:
- sex hormone metabolites (progesterone, estrogens, and androgens)
- adrenal hormone metabolites (cortisol, cortisone, creatinine, and DHEA-S)
- organic acids (which give clues to levels of vitamins and neurotransmitters)
- 8-OHdG – marker of oxidative stress
- melatonin metabolites
These metabolites are all measured from dried urine samples. Once your results are ready, we will review the results of the test and create a personalized protocol including nutrition, supplement, and lifestyle changes.

How Do I Get A DUTCH Test?
As a functional nutritionist and DUTCH Test provider, I can order this test for you and have it drop-shipped to your home. The DUTCH Complete Test is really simple. In fact, you complete the test right in your own home! All it involves is taking 5 urine test strip samples over a 24 hour period. Dried samples are stable for several weeks making them convenient to ship worldwide.
How does the DUTCH Complete Compare to Others?
Saliva Testing
- The free cortisol pattern in saliva is valuable. However, it’s missing the ability to test a patient’s HPA-Axis function (measuring cortisol metabolites).
- Saliva testing is not able to measure estrogen and androgen metabolites, which gives a fuller picture for more precise clinical diagnosis of hormonal imbalances and HRT monitoring.
Serum Testing
- Serum testing is the most universally accepted testing method, but it lacks in some areas.
- Serum testing is a blood draw at one point in time, so free cortisol cannot be tested throughout the day, which means adrenal hormones are not being effectively tested.
- There is a lack of extensive metabolite testing (especially for cortisol and estrogens).
24 Hour Urine Testing
- It is easy to have errors occur with 24 hour urine testing.
- Dysfunction in the diurnal pattern of cortisol cannot be confirmed from a 24 hour collection.
- Saliva tests are generally added to a 24 hour urine test to measure daily free cortisol. With the DUTCH Complete, it eliminates the need for two tests.
How Much Does the DUTCH Test Cost?
DUTCH Test Complete Price: $300*
*Prices are subject to change. Payment is made directly to the lab company, not to me as the DUTCH Test provider. Additionally, HSA & FSA cards can be used to purchase the test.
Is the DUTCH Test Covered by Insurance?
Although the test is out of network with insurance companies, it is possible that your insurance may willing to reimburse if you provide a superbill receipt. However, most of my clients pay out of pocket for the test.
